نيكلوساميد اسمه التجارىNiclocideوهو يعد من ال ]]teniacide]] ,("tenia-" referring to tapeworm) في مصطلح ابادة الديدان التى تصيب الانسان.,ويستعمل أيضا ك piscicide ويشدد هنا أن نيكلوساميد يعالج ديدان التينيا بعكس كل مضادات الديدان الاخرى ,هوليس فعالا ضد ديدان مثل or Pinworm roundworms. وهو يستعمل أقراصا للمضغ,ويؤخذ عن طريق الفم والجرعات حسب نوعية الديدان وعمر المريض. ويعد جزيئ نيكلوساميد ساما للديدان بمجرد التلامس.

 التأثيرات الجانبية

The medication can have side effects such as abdominal pain, anorexia, diarrhea, and emesis. Rarely, dizziness, skin rash, drowsiness, perianal itching, and an unpleasant taste.

 نظرية عمل الدواء

According to an article in Nature, niclosamide uncouples oxidative phosphorylation in the tapeworm.

Praziquantel is another drug of choice which can be used against neurocysticercosis although it can not be used against the brain ventricles of the eye. Rather it can be used against porcine cysticercosis.
