ماكس بورن (11 ديسمبر 1882 في فروتزواف، بولونيا - 5 يناير 1970 في گوتنگن، ألمانيا) كان رياضي وفيزيائي ألماني. تحصل عام 1954 على جائزة نوبل في الفيزياء لأجل بحوثه الأساسية عن ميكانيكا الكم.

حياته وأعماله
ولد ماكس بورن في فروتزواف، كان والده أستاذا في علم التشريح في جامعة فروتزواف. درس ابتداء من عام 1901 أولا علم القانون والفلسفة الأخلاقية في مدينته ثم في جامعة هايدلبرغ، جامعة زيورخ، جامعة كامبريدج، وجامعة غوتينغن، وفيما بعد الرياضيات والفيزياء وعلم الفلك وأنهى دراسته بشهادة الدكتوراه عام 1906 لدى ديفيد هيلبرت في غوتينغن.
